Meet The Team (Postdocs)

Jun Tang 唐俊

Jun got his Ph.D. degree in nutrition in 2018 at Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China), where he continued to receive postdoctoral training in 2018-2020. Jun joined the Laboratory of Human Nutrition and Epidemiology at Westlake University in November 2020. He is now working on the interaction between nutritional biomarkers, gut microbiome, host metabolism, and related chronic diseases by utilizing multi-omics including genomics, metagenomics, metabolomics, and proteomics.

Research interest: Nutritional epidemiology, nutrition and metabolic diseases, personalized nutrition, functional foods.

Luqi Shen  沈璐琦

Luqi joined Zheng Lab in 2021 as a postdoc. Previously, she was a PhD at the University of Georgia College of Public Health with a focus on genetic epidemiology and cardiovascular related traits. She received her MPH in epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Sichuan University School of Pharmacy.

Research interests: human nutrition, multi-omics (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and metagenomics), chronic kidney disease and cardiometabolic health

Kui Deng   邓魁

Dr. Deng got his Ph.D. degree in biostatistics in 2020 at Harbin Medical University (Harbin, China). He joined the Laboratory of Human Nutrition and Epidemiology at Westlake University in April 2021. Now, he focused on exploring the association of gut microbiome, metabolomics, and metabolic disease.

Research interest: gut microbiome and metabolic disease, multi-omics data integration, machine learning.

Hui Zhao 赵慧

Hui Zhao received her PhD degree in Genomics from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2020. She joined the team as research associate in 2021. She is now engaged in the relationship between immunity and metabolic diseases from the perspective of the interaction between gut microbiome and human genetic variation, and trying to develop new strategies for precision medicine and health improvement.

Research interests: Interaction of the gut microbiota and the host genome; Characteristic mechanism of the gut microbiota in autoimmunity diseases.
